This multi-purpose splice/connector is an expansion of our highly successful LED and photodetector product designs. It utilizes the same cinch nuts, alignment principles and no-fuss fiber terminations to quickly handle the three most common requirements for joining two fiber lengths.
• Replacing damaged fiber segments
• Combining two different fiber lengths
• Bulkhead or patch panel connections
To join two fibers, cut the fiber ends at a 90 degree angle, insert each into the connector and tighten the cinch nuts. Device features a 9mm inch-long 8-1 mm threaded flange for bulkhead or panel connections. Although the connector is designed for use with 750 and 1000 um core, 2.2 mm jacketed plastic fiber cable, it also is suitable for other fibers when special sleeves are used. Sleeves are available upon special request.

Magic Optic Rock (TV Stone)
Nature created its own fiber optic material long before scientists even dreamed of today’s fiber optics communication networks. It is a rare natuarally occurring mineral ulexite. The stones are composed of thousands of tiny, parallel, hairlike crystals that transfer an image just like the coherent faceplates and light guides. They often are known by the name of TV stones because of their image-transferring property. Stone are approximately 1/2 inch (13 mm) thick and 3/4 x 3/4 inches (19 x 19 mm) across the face.
