Introduction

 

7631 Vector Network Analyzer adopted the technique of Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) signal generator and multi-receiver. With high accuracy and large dynamic range, 7631 can quickly complete the transmission, reflection, phase and group delay measurement. 7631 is the perfect tool to test linear or nonlinear equipment in RF system (Radio Station, CATV, receiver equipment or other wireless communication systems).

7631 is ideal for testing of narrowband filters, SAW devices, amplifiers, antennas, impedance converters, cable and so on. Also automatic conformity testing and rapid testing is favorite and useful for volume production.

Test result can be printed or transferred to PC. It can also be recalled by the user to have a contrast test at any time.

Vector calibration before start

The calibration can eliminate the error existing in system and enhance testing accuracy. 7631 have three vector receivers and provide self-calibration function including both amplitude and phase calibration. As a result, it can efficiently eliminate the error resulted from test port, test fixture port, cable and connecter. The calibration data is saved and applied in test procedure to obtain a wider dynamic range and higher accuracy.

Normalization Calibration

A general calibrating method to get better accuracy in transmission test, which can improve the level accuracy and flat of swept signal generator, receiver absolute accuracy, insertion loss arose by test fixture and so on.

 

Application in CATV devices production

 

7631B is a 75Ohm Vector Network Analyzer, which is specially designed for CATV devices production. It can test amplifiers, splitters£¬terminal box cable, SAW devices and so on. Especially for weak signals, transmission measurement can be hardly realized by a common network analyzer.

Amplifier Measurement

 With high precision receiver and accurate signal level from signal source, 7631B can perform quality measurement, such as working frequency range, gain, flat, AGC feature, return loss and isolation, and gain compression of amplifier. Also, power sweep is available to catch 1db compression point of amplifier. 7631 provides various test and display modes to support high accuracy testing, especially for reflection strictly requested in bi-direction digital HFC network.

 

 

Splitter Measurement

7631 allows users to do transmission and reflection test of splitter at one display in virtue of double receivers, such as insertion loss, isolation, return loss and reflection coefficient, gain, attenuation, phase, group delay and so on

 

Application in passive device test

 

Filter testing

7631 can not only test various types of filter transmission and reflection, but also with intelligent analysis module accurately display center frequency, NdB bandwidth, insert loss, Q value and group delay. The automatic Pass/Fail judgement function can significantly speed up the test.
The special two windows mode helps users to test filter both in narrowband and wideband and to provide all filter parameters list.

 

Antenna testing

The main function parameters of antenna are directional diagram, gain, input impedance, standing wave ratio, polarization method, and return loss. With 7631 you can easily test medium wave antennas, short wave antennas and the antennas with the frequency under 1300MHz.
